"Zoë has a unique energy and charisma as a teacher – she inspires with her pace and verve and yet is exacting and challenging. This brings out the best in young people – whatever their ability or prior motivation. Zoë is bright and charming, she has excellent subject knowledge and I have no hesitation in recommending her tutoring and teaching."
Andrew Hampton
Ex Headmaster Thorpe Hall School - Southend-on-Sea“Charlie seemed to instantly gel with Zoë. He related to her because she treated him respectfully, like an adult, and really listened to what he had to say. Zoë sets out by assessing the learning style of students before they even start, so that she can get the best out of them. Charlie has come so far in the past year. He used to hate English. He has a newfound respect for it now. He understands so much more and has learned so much. He seems more interested in what happens in the world around him too. I would recommend Zoë - particularly to those people who have teenage boys who have slipped through the ‘English net’ - and need to have their interest stimulated. Thanks very much Zoë!”
Abby Ewen
Mother of Charlie Danbury, Essex“I supported Zoë’s classes as a learning support assistant during her years as an English teacher at Thorpe Hall School. She is a passionate teacher who inspires students! I really enjoyed being in her lessons!”

Mother of Jack Chelmsford, EssexI initially wanted to start working with Zoë in order to improve my English Language grade. Since then, Zoë has helped me improve my grade in English Language as well as English Literature by helping me understand what I was looking for in Language papers and helping me be able to find the best quotes and how to analyse them in English Literature; I found this to be very helpful instead of just giving me analysed quotes like some teachers do. I also learnt how to write essays in a proper format which will help me in my other subjects at A Level. I was able to learn very quickly as the homework I was doing was marked every week and the feedback was very useful, which is why I would recommend Zoë to my friends in lower years who are wanting to boost their GCSE grades in the future. I found Zoë’s teaching methods useful and engaging which meant the lessons were enjoyable. I think the most important thing people should know when starting to work with Zoë is that they need to be putting in work as well, Zoë teaches and then helps with work when someone is struggling, but she does not do the work for them like others might do.”

Mother Chelmsford, EssexZoe is currently tutoring my yr 9 son. She is young & vibrant & injects needed energy in to her weekly sessions. Focussing on subjects he is interested in, or those currently being examined at school are key. My son enjoys his time with Zoe & he has been moved up a set at school, which is what we were hoping for when we originally engaged with Zoe. I definitely recommend!

Mother Chelmsford, EssexStruggling with schooling for our three children trying to combine their education with their elite level sport. Conventional school was just not working. We could not balance their timetable. School were just not willing to play ball. Eventually we found Zoe at 'Pass English GCSE'. Boy we were lucky. Now, not only can Zoe fit their education around their sporting timetable, they also love their lessons with Zoe. As a parent it is an absolute joy to watch them eagerly get ready for their lesson, and to be so attentive when Zoe is teaching. They love their time with Zoe. I have watch many teachers, instructors and coaches throughout my time as a professional coach and Zoe is up there with the best of the best. It's a joy to watch someone at work that just loves their job. Pure joy. Looking for an English teacher? Contact Zoe. You will love her.

Founder of Snoworks Snowworx“Jack was struggling with English and got awful grades in his mocks so I approached his Head of Year who put me in touch with her sister (Rosie Wheeler). It was Rosie who recommended Zoë. Since starting tutoring with Zoë, Jack’s grades have increased from 2 to 3 / 4. Tutoring with Zoë has broadened his general vocabulary and boosted his confidence. I would definitely recommend Zoë as a tutor and first on the list will be my 11 year old daughter in a year or so! Zoë is up to date on the current curriculum – this is priceless. Thank you, Zoë!”
Karen Williams
Mother of Jack Chelmsford, EssexZoe is a very passionate and enthusiastic tutor who has a wealth of experience of teaching students at GCSE. Her depth of knowledge and enthusiasm shows through her sessions and she is always happy to help my daughter. She has built up my daughter's confidence and has always been fully supportive of her progression. I would highly recommend Zoe. She is current, speaks in way that teenagers can relate to. She is bubbly and makes the learning fun which is so important.

Mother Cheadle, Cheshire“After Zoë worked with my brother and helped him improve his grade so much, my mum thought it would be a good idea for me to have the same support. From the beginning of year 10 when I was working at 6s, I had been predicted 8 and 9s in my actual GCSEs. Zoë was so easy going and it is so easy to be comfortable with her, but at the same time she was such a good teacher. Zoë taught me amazing exam techniques which helped to boost my grades without having to write masses of text. I would recommend Zoë’s help to anyone starting their GCSES or anyone struggling with English in general. I couldn’t imagine doing my GCSES without Zoë, especially with the coronavirus pandemic, Zoë has helped me so much. Even at times when I was stressed about other subjects, Zoë would sit with me and try and help me find a solution. Thank you so much Zoë.”

English student Chelmsford, EssexMy daughter started weekly sessions with Zoe in Year 8. She thoroughly enjoys the sessions and they have been very beneficial. Zoe makes them interactive and engaging, and also relevant to the topics she is currently studying. My daughter has made great progress since starting the sessions and this has been recognised by her school with her being moved up a set. I would highly recommend Zoe.
Tara Naudo
Parent Chelmsford, Essex“I initially decided to work with Zoë because I wanted to improve my grades in English. After an initial face-to-face consultation with Zoë, I was impressed with her enthusiasm and ability to captivate when teaching and decided to have one-to-one sessions with her. Since working with Zoë, I have seen massive improvements not only in my grades but also in my confidence. Zoë's techniques for teaching are engaging and easy to understand, making the lessons both enjoyable and insightful. Her knowledge and passion were evident throughout all my tutoring sessions. Working with Zoë has been extremely beneficial as I was working with someone who was genuinely excited about teaching and was always encouraging me. I have grown to know Zoë and feel I have gained a friend in her. She has taken an interest in my development and was always there to help me when needed. I believe she has helped me improve on my essay writing techniques and understanding of the texts I have studied. She has guided me to work independently and given me constructive feedback on my work. She has supported me when things were not going so well at school and has kept me sane during self-isolation periods. Her constant motivation has encouraged me and given me the confidence in my studies. Although I was initially sceptical about having online tuition, I quickly adapted to the new way of learning have found the sessions to be the best I could possibly have hoped for. I would highly recommend Zoë as a tutor. Her enthusiasm is amazing and her ways of teaching are excellent. Thank you so much Zoë!”
