Are you (or your child?) struggling to write an essay on the presentation of the theme of loss in A Christmas Carol? 🤔HomeHomeStruggle no longer! 🤩 And take a look at this! HomeHomeShow the examiner that you have read the entire novella by tracking how loss is presented over the entire novella from staves 1-5.HomeHomeDo this by carefully selecting judicious quotations which demonstrate Dickens’ portrayal of the theme (see my post above for handy ideas on this ).HomeHomePlease note my essay responses are designed for the AQA mark scheme which includes AO1, AO2 and AO3 (context all integrated). However, Edexcel students can still use the ideas as the quotes, techniques and context are relevant to the Edexcel question (just separated into part a and part b). If you are studying this novella with a different exam board the work is still good - just be sure to check your exam question format and which AOs (assessment objectives) are being marked here.HomeHomeRemember assessment objectives are universal - the only difference between exam boards is how they present their questions and the respective marks available for the different AOs. HomeHomeIf you’re unsure about what your exam board/ specification/ or what AOs are - then you can find out by watching my YouTube video entitled “How to check your exam board specification for English” To find my YouTube channel click the link in my IG bio or type “Pass English GCSE” into YouTube.HomeHomeKnow your specification, exam board and then start your revision for Literature one theme and one character at a time. If you start now - it’s easy to get going and make progress! Struggling to write an essay on the character of Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol? 🤔 Take a look at this  🤩HomeHomeShow the examiner that you have read the entire play by tracking how the character of Scrooge is presented over the entire novella from staves 1-5.HomeHomeDo this by carefully selecting quotes which demonstrate Dickens’s portrayal of his character (see the quotes). Then see the example paragraph written.HomeHomeThere’s also an example paragraph written to combine understanding (AO1), terminology (AO2) and context (AO3). Every student needs to be demonstrating these assessment objectives (AOs). Check with the exam board to see the exact question format and how AOs are awarded. You can see this from the exam specification.HomeHomeIf you’re unsure about what your exam board/ specification/ or what AOs are - then you can find out by watching my YouTube video entitled “How to check your exam board specification for English” Know your specification, exam board and then start your revision for Literature one theme and one character at a time. It's been a busy weekend visiting family in Manchester! 🤪HomeHomeHowever, exam season is here and the English GCSEs begin on Monday 12th May, meaning I've been tutoring exam students at the weekends too.HomeHomeThis weekend, I taught a lesson on the move driving up north (see image included).HomeHomePlease note, my September tutoring slots are now limited, so if your child requires tuition for the next academic year I would urge you to reach out soon to secure their spot.HomeHomeYou should also know I offer academic coaching to those in year 12 and 13: helping them to select the best career course, apply to universities/ higher education courses and excel in managing their studies in sixth form. Many students find themselves stuck making the transition from year 11 to year 12. My monthly coaching sessions can make all the difference to outcomes at this time. HomeHomeI've been working on some exciting changes happening with Pass English GCSE...aka Zoe Sophie English Education Ltd too 🤩HomeHomeThere will be more revealed in time with all that will be happening in the business soon, but in the meantime, happy revision! 🙂HomeHome#gcses2025 #GCSE2025 #englishgcse #gcseenglishliterature #gcseenglishlanguage #gcseenglishtutor #igcseenglish #igcses #academiccoaching #sixthformlife #SixthFormSuccess #sixthformcollege #year12 #year13 #ALEVELENGLISH Home#essexteacher #passenglishgcse #youtubeteacher ...
